  • Early in the morning, people get up and talk to other people about the lottery and how it's bad and should be banned before Mr.Summers come out with the box. while that is happening, some poys are making a huge pile of stones and guarding it.
  • Climax
  • When Mr. Summers gets there, he needs help with the box and asks for help so two boys help hen while he moves the papers around.
  • Falling action
  • after that, Mr. Summers calls the head of the family's (mostly the husbands) and whoever gets the paper with the dot, the whole family has to redraw and see who will get it in that family.
  • Resolution
  • Bill Hutchinson was the one who got the black dot when he was picked when he got picked, his wife, Tessie was throwing a huge fit and wanted a redraw.
  • Everyone in the Hutchinson family has to pick and whoever gets the black dot in the family dies. Tessie gets the black dot so she has to go to the center of the town square and has to die.
  • when she is in the center of the square, people get rocks that the kids have gathered or have and throw them at her. Tessie's last words were " this isn't right, this isn't fair" and died later from the rocks that were chucked at her.
