Stacey, Ian, and their mother waited for the grandmother. Everyone was really excited to see her. They watched her as she walked towards the house.
"Don't you know how to knock?"
"What happened to your feet?"
Stacey went to Paw-paw and hugged her, but she didn't get a hug back. Once Ian got to her, she happily gave him a hug. Stacey was kind of sad about that, but she continued on with her day.
"I have never seen her feet."
Stacey noticed that her ribbons came off of her dancing shoes. She thought of her grandmother and was going to ask her to fix them. When she showed them to her grandmother, she yelled at her for having them. Paw-paw tried to take them away, but Stacey wouldn't let her.
Stacey had to use the bathroom. The door was closed, but she didn't think anyone was in the bathroom. She walked in not knowing that her Paw-paw was in there.
Stacey's mom came up to her and told her that Paw-paw was upset because she had seen her feet. Stacey was told that her own mother didn't even see Paw-paw's feet. Stacey really cared for Paw-paw now.
Stacey was reading "The Little Mermaid" to her younger brother Ian. When she did, she noticed that the story related to her grandmothers. At the end Paw-paw and Stacey had now understood more about each other. They noticed that ribbons brought them together.
