  • Chapter 4
  • "Make 'um let me alone, George."
  • The next minute Curley was flopping like a fish on a line.
  • "I said get him."
  • Chapter 5
  • " Why do you got to get killed? You ain't so little as mice."
  • Chapter 6
  • "You'd forget them and let 'em go hungry."
  • "I would not forget." 
  • In this scene Lennie crushes Curley's hand after he is attacked. Curley is compared to a flopping fish while Lennie has his hand because he has no control over the situation. 
  • Lennie kills one of the puppies while trying to pet it. He doesn't know his own strength and since he can't control his emotions well which leads him to situations like this.
  • Lennie is imagining a giant rabbit yelling at him by the river. He talks to the rabbit about what he has done and how he believes that George will no longer let him tend the rabbits.
