  • Chapter 1-2
  • "Come on George. Tell me. Please. Like you done before."
  • "You get a kick out of it dont you, Awright ill tell you."
  • Chapter 3-4
  • Chapter 5
  •  Lennie and George are sitting by the fire the night before their new job. Lennie wants George to tell him about their future dream. Eventually George caves in and tells Lennie all about what they will accomplish. George talks about the property and animals they'll own, he will even let Lennie tend to the rabbits. Talking about the future gets Lennies hopes up.  
  • Chapter 6
  • Carlson, a worker from the ranch, kills the old swamper, Candys, dog. Carlson sees the dog as worthless. Therefore he decides its time to kill it. He tells Candy the dog is creating more problems and its time for him to go.  Getting rid of something you don't need may help you.

  • Lennie accidentally kills Curlys wife and a puppy. He killed the puppy while petting it but never meant to hurt him. When Curlys wife started bothering Lennie he just wanted to get her to be quiet. He wound up snapping her neck when trying to calm her down. While Lennie was just trying to be harmless he caused lots of harm. Sometimes the nicest people are the most dangerous.

  • George kills his best friend Lennie. Lennie Had killed Curlys wife which meant he was going to die slowly and painfully if George didnt kill him. George wanted to make Lennies death between the two of them and the least painful for Lennie. He did it before Lennie could hurt anyone else including himself. Hurting someone might help another.
