Storyboard Text

  • Oh No! The British have blockaded us!
  • Well we won't let them get away with!
  • You fight for us now!
  • NOOOOOO!!!
  • HaHa!
  • OH No! We have to save the portrait of George!
  • The British blockaded us to try to take over the U.S. just before the start of the war of 1812. This is what started the war.
  • Victory at last boys! The British will never get us!
  • Another thing that caused the war was that the British were kidnapping our soldiers and forcing them to fight for the British. They would kill anyone who didn't coporate.
  • The British captured Washington D.C. and they proceeded to burn down the white house. James and Dolly Madison barely escaped the burning house, but they did manage to save the portrait of George Washington.
  • After a truce had already been made, the battle at New Orleans happened. This made Andrew Jackson a war hero and helped in his canditacy for presidentcy.
  • The war of 1812 really helped the citizens of the country to be more patriotic. It helped us come together as a country, and it helped us become stronger together.
  • Because of the British Blockade early on in the war, U.S production increased rapidly. It really helped our trade a whole lot.
