I thought about telling people about what a ripoff it was, but then realized that it was still gold-coated. I waited until after the Golden Button was no longer available.
The first person I told was Mr. Boss. He said he knew all along, but couldn’t find a way to tell me, so he helped me instead. I thanked him, and went off on a job. It was a sad drive. The job was simply shoveling the cold snow that began to fall, which is my least favourite job. It was like a documentary of a sloths life, but colder.
At the job someone saw that I had a Golden Button in my pocket, and they wondered what the surprise was. I told them that it was a ripoff. It simply thanked you for paying. I could tell he was disappointed. I think he wanted to buy one too.
I had to choose what to do with the Golden Button now. I considered keeping it, selling it, giving it to my nephew (he also really wanted one), and even just throwing it away. But it was clear that I would not recklessly buy whatever anymore. I knew that money wasn’t everything.
I talked it over with my nephew, and he said he didn’t want it if all it did is say thanks. I asked Mr. Boss for advice, and he said that if it were him he would smash it with a hammer. I didn’t really like that idea.
In the end, I sold it and gave the money I made from selling it to charity. It was a charity for kids who couldn’t afford their own toys, and they bought toys for little chrildren. Since I can’t spend my money well, I hope they can.
