  • Marquis de Lafayette gets shot in the leg while organizing retreat in the Battle of Brandywine and George Washington gets him medical help. His bravery makes him become an aide-de-camp to George Washington.
  • 1780
  •  Lafayette goes back to France for more supplies, guns, ships and soldiers for the American colonists. This helped the American army continue to fight against the British.
  • 1781
  •  Lafayette keeps the British in Yorktown, Virginia. This leads to their surrender.
  • 1781
  • British general, Lord Charles Cornwallis surrenders at Yorktown. This wins them the Revolutionary War.
