Storyboard Text

  • By Christopher, Ryan, and Blake
  • Johnny had 12 apples but he ate 11 ½, then he bought 2 ½ pounds of apples how many apples does he have left? 1 pound = 10 apples
  • For our first question on the quiz.
  • 12-11.5+2 1/2 lbs       1 lbs=10 apples
  • OK first,  you can combine like terms, 12-11.5 that = .5 apples the you have to do .5+2 1/2 lbs
  • OK now we have to convert the pounds to how many apples there are.  If there are ten apples per pound and we have 2 1/2 pounds then how many apples did he buy? well we have 2 full pounds so that is 20 apples but then we have a half and that is 5 apples so we have to do 20+5 and that equles 25 apples. so since we had .5 apples and we have 25 apples we have to add them together and the makes 25.5 apples!
  • 25+.5=X X=25.5
