  • The cyclops blocks the cave with a rock and asks Odysseus who he is and where he was from. Odysseus tells him they are coming back from Troy and had some misfortune. Also, Odysseus curses the cyclops for not In Greek culture it is customary for people to first let their guests in and then ask them who they are because it could be a God. The cyclops tells Odysseus he isn't scared of the Gods.

  • The cyclops eats two of Odysseus's men for dinner and more for breakfast. Odysseus realized that he has to kill the cyclops and made a plan to be able to move the rock blocking the doorway. He would get the cyclops drunk with wine a tells him his name is nobody.
  • You cannibal, eater of guests how did you like what we did to you? Zeus and the Gods have paid you.
  • After the cyclops is drunk, Odysseus takes a tree and makes it into a huge wooden stake. Odysseus takes the stake and drives it into the cyclop's eye and blinds him. The cyclops yells out and the other cyclops ask him who was bothering him. The cyclops says that nobody had hurt him which was the name Odysseus gave to him. The other cyclops think he actually meant nobody so they leave the cyclops alone.
  • In the morning the cyclops needed to let his sheep graze so removed the boulder from the door of the cave and let the sheep out. What he didn't know was that Odysseus's men were tied under sheep so the cyclops couldn't feel them under the sheep. Odysseus goes under the biggest sheep and leaves the cave. Odysseus and his men take the sheep and rush back to the ship and they quickly started to row away.
  • As Odysseus rows away with his men Odysseus provokes the cyclops and the cyclops throws a hilltop at them. It misses but the huge wave pushes the ship back to shore and Odysseus's men have to quickly row to get away from the island. Odysseus's men beg him not to provoke the Cyclops again but Odysseus tells the cyclops his name. The cyclops replies that a profit told him that Odysseus would take his eye. Also, the cyclops curses Odysseus by his father Poseidon and throws another Boulder at Odysseus.
