  • Mountain Men were men who traveled in the forest but the soon settled in Oregon. The would hut animals for food and sell there fur for profit. Also during winter would spend nights in Native american villages.

  • Pioneers would travel 2,000 miles to Oregon Country. They would have lots of gear with them and would sometimes eave it behind. They would usually travel there to sell animal fur and beat the snow.

  • Americans believed in white superiority over the Native Americans. They also believed there government and nation is the best. They saw it a job to spread how amazing America is.

  • Mexico granted Moses Austin his dads piece of land he then turned it into a colony salvation Americans and Mexicans to live in but the rues there was there has to be a Roman Catholic Church and people must speak Spanish also no slavery was aloud. But they did break those rules as year went by and started a war. Causing a war between America and Mexico.
  • This church was founded by Joseph Smith in 1830. He believed that men should have more than one wife. Sadly Joseph Smith was murdered by angry mobs in Illinois 1844.
  • In Northern California, 1848 John Sutter found gold it made lots of people wonder. Word got out fast and more and more people around the world started coming to California to dig for more. Only a few got rich but most of them just built houses
