  • In The First Continental Congress they discuss their complaints of the taxes being put on them and what it could mean for them as colonies.
  • Then they talk about what they can do to stop the taxes, one way was to not import goods from Britain.
  • Here they wrote The Declaration of Rights affirming their loyalty to the British crown but also disputing the parliaments right to tax them.
  • In The Second Continental Congress they  talked about the war that was happening in Boston with the Britain soldiers and the patriots.
  • next they talked about creating an army to protect the colonies and have the army commander be George Washington.
  • Finally after a long discussion they decided to sign The Declaration of Independence to be separate and have no allegiance to the country of Britain.
