4-5 million years ago Australopithicus started to developed in Africa in the Paleolithic era. They had stone tools and lived in Caves. They stood upright by walking on two legs. Their brain was 1/3 the size of a modern human.
2-4 million years ago, homo habilis , also known as Handy Man started to appear in Africa in the Mesolithic Era. They started to make shoes, jewlerey and pottery/vases
Between 1.6 to 2.6 million years ago the Ice age started to happen. Landbridges were made to move from place to place. 2-1.5 million years ago Homo erectus started to appear. They used early tools such as a hand ax and learned how to control fire. Their name means Upright man. They migrated out of Africa to Asia and Europe.
Homo sapiens appeared in Africa about 200,000 years ago in Africa. They learned how to use fire and used different types of tools. They moved around the world and developed language.
Homo Sapiens started to settle in places and started planting food to stay in one place and not have to hunt for food.
However, 5-4 thousand years ago people worked in farms to feed cities. They started to cut trees down to be able to plant food for all of the hungry people living there. A lot of people would work in trade for food.
