After the Indians relocated, they settled and created their own government.
Fifteen years after resettlement, the Indians experienced the Golden Years.
As 5 tribes, we recovered from the Trail of Tears and became stable again. We resumed businesses and voted for chiefs. We felt secure again in our own land.
Each of the 5 tribes created a constitution suitable for their tribe. We established schools and farms that was successful for large planters.
Only one percent of Indians owned slaves in our new land.
I am very happy to have resumed my former life in my tribe. We have rebuild from the tragedy that struck our people and can now continue to live unharmed.
