  • Before the war of 1812, France and Britain were at war with each other. The Americans did not desire to get involved wit the war but still wanted to continue to trade with both nation. However, the relationship between Britain continued to suffer as fight break out with Indian in the western territories. But the Indians allied with the Britain and the British Navy continued to intervene with the American vessels.

  • Battle of Tippecanoe was a catalyst for the war of 1812. Tecumseh and Tenskwatawa want to unite all the Indian together. But the Americans wanted to expand on the Indian Territory. 
  • We (Britain) had become allied with the Native.

  • One June 1,1812 President James Madison asked to the congress to Declare War on Great Britain
  • The Battle of Lake Eerie was led by General William Henry Harrison.  The battle occur off the coast of Ohio River. The Victory over the war led America to gain control of Lake Eerie, preventing the British from penetrating the middle of US.
  • Bye British, retreat back to Canada
  • In August 1814, The British invade WA D.C. They burned multiple building include the White House.
