When Mr. Jones, the officer, found the dead body he very angrily accosted Phil, the witness, and had various animadversions flying left and right out of his mouth.
Phil tried to get a coherent story together. He told the officer he was at a bastion all night, but no one could testify. He thought because of Phil’s diatribe that he’d finally snapped.
Mr. Jones got some names of the people that were there during the killing and got them to delineate what they saw. Plus, Phil was pertinacious with his story, no detail ever changed.
He tried to decry Phil for the murder, but couldn’t because the killer was left handed and Phil was right handed. Now, Mr. Jones thought there was no way he was a depraved person.
Mr. Jones still had a deep feeling there was no way he culminated Phil. He tried to countermand his decision with more evidence.
He questioned Phil with more of a benign voice. To see if he could get him to talk. Even though he was being nice the tension in the room was ambient.
