  • I wonder...
  • King Minos summoned the inventor Daedalus and his son, Icarus, to build him a great palace and in the cellar, a maze that no one could find the way out of.
  • Climax
  • We're flying!
  • Left: Daedalus builds the labyrinth as he is instructed. Right: Once he finds the reason for the labyrinth, he wants to leave Crete immediately.
  • Falling Action
  • I will fly higher than you, sun!
  • Left: King Minos locks up Daedalus and Icarus Because he doesn't want anyone to find out about the labyrinth. Right: Daedalus figures out a way to escape by watching the birds that he feeds and everyday he asks them to spare a feather.
  • Resolution
  • Daedalus and Icarus are flying away from Crete with the wings Daedalus made from feathers, held on by wax. Icarus wants to be the highest flying thing in the sky.
  • Icarus has only one thing to out-fly in the sky, the sun itself. What he doesn't realize is that the wax attaching his wings is melting, and he begins to fall.
  • Ahhhhhhhh!
  • All Daedalus can see is feathers floating on the surface of the sea and knows that his son has drowned.
