Storyboard Text

  • I always think 'outside of the box'. For example, I used a picnic blanket as a sail.

  • I am very smart. "Em would always be a year older than he was, but that didn't mean he would always be dumber than she was."
  • Hello, My name is Gilbert.
  • I am interested in time even though I hate it. "Gilbert hated time." But, he always talks about time in the story. He even has a book on it.
  • Another thing that motivates me is that I like being right and I always have to prove my point. An example is when Em says, "It's just time.", and then I take out my book about time and prove her wrong.
  • One thing that motivates me is that I love making my father laugh. "Making his father laugh like that was like Christmas and his Birthday,".
  • I am motivated by many things.
  • One thing that happened is when my father... died. "He looked out of his windows at the stupid blue sky with its awful yellow sun to realize his father was gone forever and ever, to the end of time
  • Many life changing events have happened to me.
  • Another life changing event that occured to me is when I found the handcar. "She, her brothers, and Gilbert were all staring at the handcar as if to say, "Where have you been all my life?".
  • Mrs. Curie
  • At the beginning of the story, I am inside the treehouse with the limbhurgers during the Summer. "You got up into my treehouse.", He said."
  • Between the beginning and the end of the story, I am in two completely different places.
  • At the end of the story, I am on a handcar driving through time with many other dimensions hoping to find an answer for time. "There was another Kalamazoo to the right, and Gilbert was pretty sure he could easily make the leap from his car to it."
  • One way that I have changed is that I have more freedom towards the end of the story. The reason I have more freedom is because my father has died. "Lacking any direction from father, and so Gilbert made the most of it."
  • From the time of the beginning of the story to the end, I have changed in ways.
  • Another way that I have changed is that I have changed my attitude about time. At the end of the story I am more interested in time. "If there was an answer, he'd find it there.
