Guess what I learned in AR History today.
What did you learn?
I learned that Eli Whitney created the cotton gin in 1793 in Connecticut.
What else did you learn?
That the cotton gin pulls the seeds out of the cotton
That's pretty neat!
The cotton gin could also clean up to fifty pounds per day!
That sounds like more than what a slave could do!
It made the cotton industry much more profitable.
That's sounds like a pretty important invention!
The machine also made a much higher demand for slaves.
The sucks that all those slaves had to do that.
