Before the meeting
Let's throw the tea into the river!
The British had put a tax on tea for the colonist, the colonist drink tea almost every single day so they were not happy about this. The decided to hold a meeting to decide what they were going to do. They had been thinking a little to decide what they were gonna do. They decided to hold a meeting and see what they were going to do with a groups opinion.
Samuel Adams was against this meeting and declared "This meeting can do nothing more to save the country!" Many people were angry about this tax and some even said "Let's make this Boston Harbor a teapot tonight!" An estimated hundreds decided to take part in this act. They decided to dress as indians to symbolize that they are now americans.
After the act was done and the tea was throw into the harbor people felt no regret. This act is now a very important and well known part in history. These people made a bold move to stand up for what they believed in even if the consequences were negative.
