Storyboard Text

  • Sure, I'm positive he is over by the kola trees.
  • Oh, would you go get Uncle Harold for me.
  • I wonder if we will have enough wheat and greens for the week and trade .
  • I just hope that Uncle Harold finishes his cow duty correctly!
  • In West Africa, the earliest communities consisted of family-based communities. These extended families had 15-20 people living with them and working on the same farm.
  • Every family member had a specific task that they had to complete. When they accomplished all the necessary needs of a community, they traded amongst themselves and other communities.
  • Over time, family-based communities produced the food they needed to survive and grew to a population of 100 to 200 people. Some of the communities bonded together to form small villages.
