  • Some main characters in Jip are Jip, Sheldon, Put, Mr and Mrs Lyman, The slave catchers. This story takes place on a poor farm in Vermont near the civil war.
  • Climax
  • Jip was living on the a poor farm after being found on a road as a baby. Although he doesn't enjoy living on a poor farm of constant labor, he found he is lucky he was on a poor farm instead of in slavery. 
  • Falling Actions
  • One rising action is The Lunitic finally came to the poor farm crazy as ever and also the Wilkens came. Another rising action is Jip went to school with one of the Wilkens, (Lucy) and made friends with teacher witch ended in help of escaping slavery.
  • Resolution 
  • The climax of Jip is when he actually finds out he is a slave and is black.  Also alongside that he finds out his mother threw him out the wagon out of best intentions for her child. 
  • Jip went to the Stevenson's but was still being hunted by slave catchers.  So he then went back to the poor farm to drop off put so he didn't die of sickness but he was in the middle of a spell and showed aggression so he was shot.
  • Jip then went to teachers and talked her about Puts death and leaving the south, and going to Canada to escape the slave catchers.  So Jip met with the conductor Luke was talking about and was taken to Canada by train.
