There are three major places these battles were fought. In the Northwest the United States continued to try and invade Canada only to be defeated every time. At our Western Boarders, American troops are fighting Tecumseh's Indian. In the Atlantic, American ships are struggling against what is known as the world's best Navy.
British troops fought into Chesapeake Bay to the capital. Here they vandalized great symbols of American pride and set major buildings on fire. American troops didn't save the day this time, the weather did. A tornado and hurricane drove them back to their ships and put out fires.
As of December 24, 1814 the Treaty of Ghent was signed, declaring peace between the nations. From now on the relationship with Great Britain has changed from parent and child to siblings. The United States can now act like the independent nation it is.
