  • Dolly Madison was born on May 20, 1768 in Guildford County, North Carolina
  • Marriage and Family
  • My husband!!!!!!!!!!
  • So, um, wanna get married?
  • She was one of eight children into a Quaker family. When she was an infant, her family moved to a plantation in Virginia. When she was 15, her family moved to Philadelphia.
  • Important life event
  • Because that makes sense!
  • All I know is that she went to Princeton College.
  • Death/heroism 
  • I got you George!!
  • Dolly's first husband, John Todd Jr., a lawyer and a fellow Quaker blessed her with two children. Her husband and one son later died of yellow fever. Aaron Burr introduced her to James Madison later in life
  • They were 17 years apart but they married anyways. The became a very rich couple.
  • James Madison became the 4th president. The white house burned to flames. But Dolly managed to save important papers and a portrait of George Washington. Dolly later died in 1849.
