  • In a small town named Nazareth, there was a lady named Mary. One day something amazing happened. An angel of the lords named Gabriel, a very important angel appeared to mary.  He said "don't be afraid Mary, God has sent me to tell you that soon you will have a son. He will be called Jesus, he will be great and will be called 'the son of God'". Mary said to him "I am the handmade of the Lord. May God do with me as he wants to". (Luke 1:38)

  • Jesus is born
  • The Roman emperor Caesar Augustus declared a new law. It was that everyone in Nazareth needed to go to Jerusalem and sign up for the census. So Mary and Joseph made their way to Bethlam. The trip took Joseph and Mary many many days. They travelled 65 miles (105 km).
  • An angel tells the shepherd the saviour has been born
  • When they reached Bethlehem they found out that all of the Inns were full. Joseph tried to find a suitable place for Mary and himself as she was about to have Jesus. All night Joseph spent his time looking for a place to stay. Joseph pleaded to God to help them to find a place to stay. The Joseph came across a poor man. He told Joseph he had no space in his home as he was poor but he could go into the stable for the night.
  • The shepherds arrive and share the great news
  • After a long night of travelling, Mary gave birth to baby Jesus she rapped him in cloth and laid him in a manger of fresh hay.  Mary was so happy to be a mother. She touched him gently and so did Joseph.
  • Near Bethlehem, that night there were some shepherds keeping watch over their flocks of sheep. When suddenly an angel appeared in front of them.  The angel said to them "I have good news for you, there is a saviour who has been born." The angel told them where to find them, she told them to follow the star.
  • The Shepherds found Jesus at the stable just as the angel had told them. After they had seen Jesus they spread the news and everyone who heard was in wonder.  That was the story of the birth of Jesus.
