  • While scrooge works, he watches his clerk work. Scrooge is shown as distrusting because he watches his clerk and refuses to give him coal to make a fire.

  • The symbolism of this scene is the chains. The chains symbolize the restraints that Marley made when he lived. He created those chains because he locked himself away from anyone else.

  • The internal conflict is that scrooge now feels regret for what he did to his clerk. So, the conflict is that scrooge is changing.

  • The symbolism here is the ghost of Christmas present. the ghost of Christmas present is England in that time zone. England in that time zone was a big influence in the world but was also hiding their problems.
  • Scrooges internal conflict is his fear of the ghost of Christmas yet to come. He fears the phantom because the other two ghosts have shown him terrible visions and his heart Is begginning to thaw.

  • The symbolism referred here is the ghost of Christmas yet to comes hand shaking. The hand shaking shows that the future Is changing.
