On the 2nd of July, 1505, Martin Luther's life was changed when he was struck by lightning. He called out to Saint Anne, "Help me ill be a monk".
Martin Luther stated questioning the practises of the Catholic Church and studied the Bible.
On October 31st, 1517 Martin Luther took a list of 95 points, called the ninety-five Theses, where he thought the church had gone wrong and nailed it to the door of the Catholic Church.
One of the major practices the Luther disagreed with was the paying of indulgences. This practise allowed people to be forgiven of their sins if they paid the church money
Martin Luther was asked to take down the 95 theses, he refused to keep them there and let the community read his opinion. He was then summoned to the diet of worms and was excommunicated. The diet of worms was an imperil Council to decide his fate
After the printing press was discovered the bibles were translated into German so the community could read the bible for the first time by themselves. they discovered that Martin Luther was correct and the people turned on the priest and the church went broke.
