  • Sue receives a phone call about her upcoming lab visit. Her provider explains why it is necessary and what to expect when she arrives like where to park, where to enter the building, that there will be a greeter there to guide her as well as the COVID -19 precautions that are in place for her safety. Sue feels confident in know what to do when she gets to the lab.
  • Sue goes onto her patient portal where her provider sent all of the information she reviewed with her on the phone. Sue feels confident knowing this information is available to her at any time. Here she is also able to see the different locations of labs available and times the lab is open. She has the option to chose an appointment time and preregister online. She completes the registration form, pays her copay and is scheduled for tomorrow morning.
  • Sue receives a text message reminding her of her appointment and location. It reminds her to wear her mask and practice social distancing. It tells her there will be a staff member at the door to greet her, take her temperature and show her where to go.
  • Sue is able to find the location of the lab easily. She sees the smiling greeter at the door and there is a sign telling her where to go.

  • There were clear signs showing Sue where to go. She felt better seeing the staff cleaning and signs posted about what they are doing to keep her safe.

  • Sue had preregistered online and and paid her copay so all she had to do was give her registered patient number and have a seat. There was adequate spacing to make her feel safe. She didn't wait long but noticed the resources available to patients.
