I must go back to Ithaca!!
Don't leave me!!
The Great Bow Test
That's what you get!!
Odysseus and Penelope
I love you so much Odysseus!!
After all of Odysseus's men die, he washes up on Calypso's island. He spends 7 years there because Calypso will not let him go. Then, Hermes comes and tells Calypso to let him go.
In order for Penelope to pick a new husband, she proposed The Great Bow Test. The person that could string Odysseus's bow, and shoot it through six ax heads could be her new husband. No one could do this except Odysseus, so he let everyone have a turn then surprised them by coming out of disguise, and accomplishing the task. Then, he killed all the suitors.
In order for Penelope to know that Odysseus was her husband, she asked him a question that only he would know the answer to. When he answered right, he knew that he was really Odysseus.
