Storyboard Text

  • It's a new day in Lakeland and everyone is learning about the UN Convention on the Rights of a Child...
  • We're here today because Article 28 says that we have the right to receive decent education...
  • Indeed so, but Article 29 also mentions that it can develop our own personal talents and abilities.
  • You haven't worked on anything whatsoever, so you're going to be caned...
  • WHAT?! Article 37 says that NO ONE should be punished in a cruel or harmful manner!
  • So you're saying to me that I can support judaism and go to worship the Jews at a synagogue like this one? Is that true?
  • Yes, because Article 14 says that we all have the right to pick any religion or beliefs we want, providing that our parents help us in making a decision.
  • Later that night, on the other side of the world (Tokyo, to be precise!)...
  • Oh, I've missed you so much! What a wonderful surprise this is!
  • That's because I've discovered that Article 10 says if I live in a different country than you, I've the right to be with you here and now.
  • I wish I could hear her thoughts, because if I feel she's thinking about anything to get out of the lesson she'll be in detention...
  • Article 31 says that I have the right to play and rest, and I wish I could because this is SOOOO boring...
  • And remember, as per Article 1, EVERYONE under the age of 18 has these rights!
  • And so every young student in town followed their own human rights, including these seven articles among a total of 54 on the UN Convention on the Rights of a Child. Because it's not just adults that have rights, the young 'uns have rights too!
