Storyboard Text

  • Patriarchs are male leaders of the Jewish people chosen by God who are suppose to lead Jewish people into a life long relationship with God.  Stories of patriarchs tells how the Hebrews form a unique covenant with God. Since, Abraham and Sarah were the Patriarch and Matriarch (leaders) of the Hebrews, God made a covenant with them promising them that they will have many descendants who will receive a Promise Land. God's help is repeated for every descendant after Abraham and Sarah.
  • Before, Moses's journey to the Promise Land , God appeared to him as a burning bush revealing that Moses is suppose to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. Moses was unsure on how he was going to do this but then God revealed that he is going to have 10 plagues for the Romans and that Yahweh sent him.
  • After, Moses found the Israelites he told them to kill a sheep or goat, smear it's blood on the top of the door and eat the rest for family dinner. After Jesus passed over the village all the first born childs were dead including the Pharaoh's son. This forced the Pharaoh to release the Israelites where Moses will have to lead them to the Promise Land. Unfortunately, Moses died right before everyone got o the Promise Land. Joshua was chosen to be the new leader and guided everyone to the Promise Land where they had to battle the Philistines.
  • The Kingdom of Israel and Judah were lead by three different kings who were Saul, David and Solomon. Due to Saul failing to lead a life God wanted, the 12 tribes were divided, 10 tribes in the north known as Israel and two tribes in the south known as Judah. David was named the next King who united all 12 tribes and made Jerusalem the center point of religious life. As David passed his son, Solomon was the new king the first thing he did was build a temple just like David wanted. However, Solomon turned away form God.
  • The Greek empire began with Alexander the Great and the land he conquered. After his death, land had to be divided by the Romans and Syrian Greeks. They eventually fought against each other in a battle. The Syrian Greeks had to pay the Romans so they taxed the Jews a lot. This is when Jewish independence begins where rebellion Jews created a group   and went to battle to gain indapendance. They eventually won and the Greeks made Israel independent. Due to poor leadership different political groups began to form such as the Sadducees, Essenes and Pharisees.
  • At the time, the Roman empire was in power. Israel was being ruled by the Romans but the Israelites didn't like it and hoped someone came to help get rid of the Romans. Eventually, Jesus came along but showed his power by talking about justice, forgiveness and love. After the Jewish leaders made a ruckus, Jesus was killed. Jesus was confirmed God's son after his resurrection. God's plan worked and Christians now try to create God's Kingdom on earth.
