when i was born i was born in to slavery.
i put myself threw school and became a teacher after the civil war
in 1895 i gave my opinion on race relation in the Cotton States and International Exposition in Atlanta
in that speech i said that African Americans should accept disenfranchisement and social segregation as long as whites allow them economic progress, educational opportunity and justice in the courts.
in 1901 Theodore Roosevelt invited me to have diner with him in the white house
