  • my name is booker t. washington and i was a teacher and principle a the tuskiegee institute in tuskiegee, alebama
  • when i was born i was born in to slavery.
  • i put myself threw school and became a teacher after the civil war
  • in 1895 i gave my opinion on race relation in the Cotton States and International Exposition in Atlanta
  • in that speech i said that  African Americans should accept disenfranchisement and social segregation as long as whites allow them economic progress, educational opportunity and justice in the courts.
  • in 1901 Theodore Roosevelt  invited me to have diner with him in the white house
