  • French Revoltuion
  • We the first and second estates believe that we should raise taxes for this glorious country!!! Majority rules!!!
  • We the third estate think this is blasphemous and should not be happening!
  • The National Assembly
  • The king has oppressed us for too long!!! We need to revolt and take back what is ours!
  • The start of the revolution
  • We are here to take back what is rightfully ours! you nobles have been living the good life for way too long!!!
  • In France, King Louis had very lavish spending ways. to combat this, he decides to raise taxes on his people. since the first and second estates dont pay taxes they were all for this. that left the third estate to pay for all of the kings spending.
  • King Louis the wimp
  • You may not enter the palace!!!! the king has hired us un-loyal fighters to protect his crown
  • The picture above describes the formation of the National Assembly. the National Assembly formed when the third estate realized they really did not need the top two estates and the crown. they realized they had more power than the they thought and decided to stand up for themselves. this was the first deliberate action of the French revolution
  • Rioters take over
  • Welcome to new france! a country for the people and run by the people
  • All men can vote, no classism! basically a utopia of a country!
  • Never! death to you "King"!!!
  • To gain power in the revolution, the National assembly utilized their power in numbers. they raided multiple gun caches and then raided all the homes of the nobles and aristocrats. They had successfully used their numbers to take over France
  • Death of King Louis
  • Rather than try and talk to his people, King Louis decided to barricade himself in his own castle.He also had to higher mercenaries to guard him because no one else would. He finally feels the pressure mounting on him and he flees the country. this leaves the country open for rule
  • Now ungoverned, France had to fend off countries like Austria and Prussia from invading. this allowed the rebels to take over and make a new government. This event marked the end of Monarchy in France and replaced it with more of a republic/democracy
  • King Louis ends up getting captured and sent back to France. there he is tries and found guilty of treason and sentenced to death. he will die at the hands of the Guillotine. The new government would continue to murder supporters of the old gov by way of guillotine
  • Spare my life please! I promise i will change!
