In chapter one, Equality had been given the job/vocation of being a street sweeper. He went to work everyday and hated it because he wanted to become a scholar.
I shall bring water to you
In chapter two, Equality had finally met the girl he had been staring at for a while, Liberty 3-5000. As equality walked to Liberty, she asked what his name was , she stated "What is your name?" and he replied, "Equality 7-2521" (Rand 43)
While reading chapter three, Equality creates electricity with playing with a dead frog. Equality had a wire of copper and a metal knife while experimenting on the dead rog.
In chapter 4, while Equality was talking to Liberty, Liberty had brought up how hot it was and mentioned water. Equality had said that he wanted water but couldn't cross to the fields. Liberty proposed, "We shall bring the water to you," (Rand 57)
All alone in his cave, Equality tries to create light once again using the wire. Equality is unknowingly making a light bulb with out the help of others and plans to soon show the World Council of the Scholars...
In chapter 6, Equality is thrown into jail after coming to his home after past his curfew. The Councilmen has physically punished Equality because he had refused to tell them why he was late.
