  • Even though it sounds like the French and the Indians were against each other in this war, they actually worked together!The French and British were fighting over land in The New World or Americas, and had a 7 year war over it! Indians fought on both sides, so not all of them were on the same side. The war finally ended in 1763.
  • The Boston Massacre was also called, "The Bloody Massacre", and was a street fight in Boston on March 5th,1770. The colonists that lost their jobs started throwing rocks and snowballs at British soldiers. The British fought back and shot their muskets, killing 3 men and 2 more later on. Crispus Attucks was the first person killed in the fight for freedom.

  • "The Boston Tea Party", was no ordinary party. This was the last tax before the American Revolution, in 1773.The colonists were angry about tax on tea, so they decided to dress up as Mohawk indians, sneak onto the delivery ships, and throw 90,000 lbs. of tea overboard.

  • The Battle of Lexington and Concord was a battle held in 1775.The colonists had heard that the British were going to steal the weapons they owned, so they prepared for it and on the night of April 19th, the colonists surrounded the British and all of them were either killed or held in prison.
  • The Declaration of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson in 1776. It stated that colonists should have their own freedom of government. My favorite line in it was,"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness".

  • The Battle of Yorktown was from Sep. 28 to Oct. 19 in 1781. This was the most important battle in The Revolutionary War. When Lord Cornwallis tried to escape Yorktown, General Washington sent 17,000 soldiers of French and Continental troops to keep Cornwallis in Yorktown. This started the war.
