Now that we were told about the Ozone Depletion, I was worried over the fact that my aunt was still going to work. She wanted to keep working because she is an assistant manager and gets well paid. I visit her while she was working and told her to retire or quit her job because getting even more sick is not worth it. But she said "NO".
A year and a half has now passed by, she seems to be doing alright, the only thing that has changed is that all of her hair is now gone. She is now having to wear a wig. She had fallen in a world of depression.
About two years ago my aunt had started to feel chest pains, the pain got so bad up to the point were she had to go to the emergency room and that's when they told her that she had lung cancer. They told her that as long as she stayed away from smoking and things like that she would be fine.
Many days had gone by, once my aunt realized that I was right about her not going to work because it would only make her condition worse, it was already to late, there was nothing the doctors could do. There was not anything I could do except be there with her holding her hand. Her last words to me were "take care sweetie". On May 21st she died.
From then on, things only got worse. Animals started dying from the UV rays, skin cancer rates started going up, and a lot of people started developing lung cancer due to all the dangerous chemicals not being able to leave the planet. To make matters worse things that we needed to keep us safe (sunscreen, gas masks, sunglasses, etc.) have gone up price.
A little over a week had gone by and the Ozone layer had started releasing gasses, making it hard to breath. People had to start using gas masks and sunscreen in order to go outside. Not very many people would go out during the day due to the sun and gasses even though they had masks and sunscreen, everyone just wanted to stay safe.
