Storyboard Text

  • How goes the night, boy?
  • The moon is down. I have not heard the clock.
  • It is late at night and Banquo can't sleep. He is very alert of every sound. This is a foreshadow because he doesn't know that Duncan will be killed that night.
  • Duncan wanted to give this diamond to Lady Macbeth because of her hospitality.
  • We didn't prepare as much for the king as we wanted to.
  • Duncan thanks Lady Macbeth for her hospitality by giving her a diamond. He doesn't know why she is really being so nice.
  • Is this a dagger I see? Facing toward my hand?
  • At the end of Act II, scene 1, Macbeth explains in his soliloquy that he sees a dagger but doesn't know if it is real or if it is a hallucination.
