I wish I could go to school!
Girls were not allowed to attend school and were taught how to keep house and how to care for children. Wealthy boys were tutored at home and poor boys went to a public school.
The types of houses ranged from log cabins, farmhouses, town houses, to great colonial mansions.
The American colonies adhered to all denominations of the Christian religion and many people were expected to say daily prayers and always attend church on Sundays.
