Storyboard Description

After being raped, Alice returned home for the summer. This story broad is made up of three different situations that has happened between Alice and each family member. Each situation focuses on how each family member (sister, mom, and dad) tries to deal/understand what Alice went through. Situation 1: Mary, Alice's sister, doesn't know how to act around Alice Situation 2: Alice's father thinks Alice let the rape happen since the rapist didn't have a weapon when the actual rape took place. He fails to comprehend what goes on when a women is raped, so Alice pulls him aside and helps him understand. Situation 3: Alice wants to try to talk the rape because it helps her, so her mom tries to listen. Unfortunately, her mother couldn't take it.

Storyboard Text

  • Mary?
  • Mary it's me. Let me in
  • After coming home from college Mary, Alice's older sister, locked herself in the bathroom because she was upset seeing her Alice so badly beaten.
  • It's okay... its all going to be okay
  • I want to hold her, I wish she would hold me
  • I'm sorry. You're doing so well with it. I just don't know how to act. I dont know how you're being so strong
  • While at dinner, Alice brought up how the police had found her glasses and the rapist's knife out near the brick path.
  • What don't you understand, Bud?
  • You mean he didn't have a knife in the tunnel? ..I don't think i understand how could you have been raped if he didn't have a knife
  • In the middle of dinner Alice took her father upstairs: she wanted (needed) her father to understand what she went through and why he was wrong for thinking what he thought.  
  • When most women are raped... even if there is a weapon, while the rape is going on, the weapon is not there in her face. He over powered me, dad. He beat me up. I couldn't want something like that, it's impposible
  • I don't know why you didn't try to get away. How could he have raped you unless you wanted it to happen
  • Alice is trying talking to her mom about the rape.
  • You can try, but I can't promise I can do this
  • I need to tell you what happened in the helps me to try and talk about.
  • Alice was only able to get through one quarter of the dreadful event before her mother stopped her. Her mother couldn't take anymore. 
  • I can't, Alice. I want to, but i can't. I don't think I'm the right person for this. I can make an appointment with Dr. Graham
  •  Mom, I don't have anyone else to share this with
