This is Greg, last night his girlfriend broke up with him and left. He wakes up depressed because she isn't there.
He goes to work where he is in meetings all day and does the same boring thing he always done. He isn't cheerful because of everything that has happened the past few days and his boss talks to him.
His boss says he should take some time off because of his depressing feel at work. This doesn't help him because he now has to pay for his and his girlfriends house alone, now he will have less money.
Walking home from work he meets a man on the street and the man can tell hes upset. The man talks him into talking some pills that would make him happier, so Greg takes them because he wants to feel better again.
Greg takes the pills and begins to feel a lot better because the reward pathway increases the dopamine in his brain. The dopamine makes his brain feel better, this is also because of the serotonin.
He only bought enough pills for that night so when he wakes up, he can't stop thinking about them and he doesn't have anymore money to get them. He very quickly begins to feel even more depressed, because now that he doesnt have to dopamine he feels worse. He begins to feel sick and have suicidal thoughts, he knows something is wrong and goes to the hopital.
