Storyboard Text

  • Conflict
  • Irony
  • Point of View
  • "Mirage," thought Rainsford. (Connell 22)
  • Man v Man. The conflict in man v man because it is Rainsford against another character, Zaroff. "It must have courage, cunning, and above all, it must be able to reason." (Connell 27"
  • Literary Device
  • Situational Irony- Rainsford and other men were on a trip to go hunting, but Rainsford ended up being the one hunted. "Be a realist. The world is made up of two classes-the hunters and the huntees. Luckily you and I are the hunters." (Connell 19)
  • Literary Device
  • Third person omniscient. This is third person omniscient because it has the thoughts and feelings of multiple characters, but the narrator is not part of the story.
  • Theme
  • "The cry was pinched off short as the blood warm Caribbean Sea" (Connell 21) This is a metaphor because it compares the warmth of the water to blood.
  • "the sea licked its greedy lips in the shadows." (Connell 22) This is personification because the sea does not have lips nor the human emotion of greed.
  • You have to be smarter than your opponent to win the game. If you don't let worries and nerves get in the way of clear thought, you have a better chance at winning. Always be smarter than the hunter. "I will not lose my nerve, I will not."
