Hey guys I put food in ground and we have more food
Now I don't have to waste my day trying to find food for my family who I don't even love!
For a long time, people depended on nature to live. These people were called nomads. Nomads are people who don't have a permanent home. Men hunted every single day while the women gathered wild plants very hard to live and most babies died because food was so limited.
Surplus of food / Population grows
Now all of our children will be spoiled to death!
8,000 years ago farming was discovered. This meant that humans could grow foods such as wheat, rice, and corn.
Trading / exchange items
I will trade my ox-driven plow for your pig.
Okay. Go Henry, you have a new home now.
Domestication is where people tamed animals to use them at home. Goats were utilized for meat and milk, cattle, pigs, and chickens was enough to feed men, women, and babies.
Life is so convenient now! I can't even remember what life was like before now!
The population grew from about 2 million people on earth then grew to 90 million. This was because babies would live because they had enough food to feed everyone.
(this is too much food for me to handle!)
When people had more food and nice homes, people did not have to farm anymore, and they had different jobs. Some people developed better farming equipment. Specialized workers traded their inventions for food.
As food supply increased, people lived in permanent homes. Homes were made of logs and stone. Small communities turned into big communities. As communities grew, rules and laws were made, and people had jobs that helped the communities. Then there were leaders who helped enforce the laws.
