"It is a very great honor to welcome Mr. Sanger Rainsford, the celebrated hunter, to my home.
The story, "The Most Dangerous Game" takes place on Ship-Trap Island in the Caribbean Sea. One of the main characters is General Zaroff. He is a cold-blooded killer, but he does have some good traits about him. This is General Zaroff. His three character traits are that he has proper manners, intimidating looks, and treats people with good sportsmanship when loosing.
"Follow Ivan, if you please, Mr. Rainsford. I was about to have my dinner when you came. I'll wait for you. You'll find that my clothes will fit you, I think."
The text states, "Rainsford's first impression was that the man was singularly handsome. He was a tall man past middle age, for his hair was a vivid white, but his thick eyebrows and pointed military mustache were as black as the night from which Rainsford had come. His eyes, too, were black and very bright. The face of a man used to giving orders."
"Rainsford!How did you get here?"
"Swam. I found it quicker than walking through the jungle."
As you can tell from what General Zaroff is saying, he has very good manners and speaks politely and welcoming.
"I congratulate you. You have won the game."
General Zaroff is also showing great manners here by waiting for Rainsford to start eating and offering Rainsford brand new clothes. He is not like your stereotypical murderer.
After Zaroff thought Rainsford was dead, Rainsfors snuck into his room and surprised him to show him he had won the game that no one has ever won before.
When General Zaroff found out he had lost the game for the first time, he showed very good sportsmanship and congratulated Rainsford instead of getting all all mad and upset. He also didn't start freaking out when he found out he lost. He remained very calm.
"I am still a beast at bay. Get ready General Zaroff."
