  • Communicating Test Scores of Students Performing Below Expected Proficiency Levels

  • Communicating Test Scores of Students Performing Below Expected Proficiency Levels
  • Before the test, students will be given a rubric of what is expected of them. This rubric will also be displayed in the room and sent to parents. It will remain visible during the test.
  • If a student performs below the expected proficiency level, a meeting will take place with the student and parent to discussion both ways the student was successful and what needs to be re-assessed. Depending on the type of test, the teacher may ask guided questions to illicit a new, more correct answer.
  • During the meeting, the 3 individuals: student, parent and teacher will decide on an action plan. The weight of the burden of this plan resides on the sholders of the student. This plan will ultimately include a re-assessment of the student's knowledge.
