St. Teresa of Avila was born on March 28, 1515 in Avila, Spain
Despite of her fathers opposition she entered the Carmelite Convent of the Incarnation of Avila
Within two years her health collapsed, for 3 years she was invalid, she loved mental pray, and after recovery she stopped praying
Did not pray for fifteen years and then went under a religous conversion
Her reform required utter withdrawl so that the nuns could meditate on divine law and throught a prayful life of penance
She then opened her first convent at St. Joseph's of the Carmelite reform
John Baptist Rossie, the Carmelite prior genral from Rome, went to Avila and approved the remorm
Despite her health and difficulties, Teresa spent the rest of her life establishing and nuturing 16 more convents throughtout Spain
