  • In the short story "The Black Cat" The narrator recites his life story as a boy, fond of animals. He married young, which wasn't uncommon at the time and had many animals, especially a black cat named Pluto. The narrator (Main Character) tells about his alcoholism. This made him violent sometimes. 
  • Climax
  •  The narrator thinks the cat is avoiding him so he takes out one of the cat's eyes. He is ashamed, but this only lasted a short time before the cat started to avoid him. He was angry about this. 
  • Falling Action
  • The narrator becomes so infuriated that he hangs the cat. The same night, his house burns down. He sees an image of the cat hanging on the wall. He is shaken. He looks for a new cat to cover up. 
  • Resolution
  •   The black cat follows the narrator home, the cat likes the narrator. Because of the past deeds, the narrator begins to loathe the cat. The cat is missing an eye like Pluto. One day the narrator trips on the cat and raises an ax to kill him, his wife tried to stop him, but he killed her in rage. 
  •  The narrator hides his wife up behind the wall. The cat seems to have gone away and the narrator sleeps peacefully.  The police come to search the house be the narrator is unbothered, he knows they won't find his wife.
  • The police are about to leave for good.  At that exact moment, there comes wailing from behind the wall. the police remove it and find his dead wife along with the black and white cat that he had accidentally walled up as well.   I recommend this story is your like tails people going insane
