Give me back my wife, or you'll have a war on your hands.
Menelaus, king of Sparta
The Trojan War started after Paris, the prince of Troy, abducted Helen, who was the wife of Menelaus, king of Sparta. When Menelaus demanded her back, the Trojans refused, and the ten year long war started. At Aulis, all of the best fighters led the Greek army. This included Achilles, Patroclus, Diomedes, Odysseus, Nester, and two warriors named Ajax. For years the Greeks ravaged the outside of Troy, but the inner city was well fortified. The war finally ended when the Greeks built a wooden horse. They dropped it off on Troy and appeared to have left, so the Trojans took it inside the inner walls. What they didnt know is that the inside was filled with Greek warriors, including Odysseus. The Greeks crept out of the horse at night, and opened the gates so the others could get in. The Greeks then rushed in and decimated the Trojan forces.
