Storyboard Text

  • AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! Zeus better know what he is doing!
  • Whew! I made it. I never want to do that again!
  • There's Lord Poseidon! I can't wait to learn about the sounds of the ocean!
  • But how did you know?
  • Lord Poseidon! I am...
  • Here to ask me questions about sound. Yes I know.
  • Word travels fast when you are a god.
  • Poseidon, why does noise sound differently underwater?
  • Sound waves travel similarly in both air and water. The intensity of a sound, which is how loud or soft it is, depends on both the pressure of the sound, as well as the medium which it passes through
  • That is a tricky one young Adonis, but I will do my best to explain.
  • I think so. Thanks Lord Poseidon! Do you have any idea of who I should talk to next?
  • Because water is more dense than air, the intensity of sound passing through it is lower than that of sound passing through air.
  • Does that answer your question?
  • Go and talk to Hermes. That one always has something to say.
