Storyboard Text

  • That's it. I can't take it anymore. Mom is gonna kill me when she sees my grade for that trig test. If only I could find a tutor...
  • Wait! The Hall of Wisdom! I can ask one of the instructors for help! I can go on my own now since I'm sixteen!
  • one's here...
  • Here we find our main character Francis in a little dilemma. He needs to pass his architecture class but keeps failing his trig derivatives class. He just failed his second retake and needs help or else his mother will force him to sleep in the barn for the rest of the year.
  • What do you want commoner!? I'm busy!
  • Francis suddenly realizes that he can now go to the Hall of Wisdom in the town of Elders. He used to have to go with his mother every three months for inventory, but he can now go on his own.
  • I apologize for coming unannounced, but I would like to humbly ask if one of your scholars would be willing to tutor me in trig.
  • After a hasty journey through the Bloomingdale Forest and a hike up the Hill of Fruits, Francis finally arrives at the Hall of Wisdom. Strangely enough the usually busy and guarded Hall seems empty.
  • Answer me this: My name is integral, so who will always be my opposite?
  • Suddenly one of the maidens of Truth appears before Francis frightening him. She seems annoyed by his unannounced presence and is also dressed in royal attire.
  • Whoa...didn't see that coming...
  • Realizing that she is both a maiden and adviser of the palace, Francis tries to humbly ask her for help but realizes that he needs the answer to a riddle.
  • I need help passing an exam for architecture and I have nowhere else to turn.
  • Why?
  • The riddle is changed every month to prevent foreigners from gaining easy access. Even though neighboring towns are given lesson and clues, poor Francis forgot to memorize this one and has to take a guess.
  • umm...well...that's what I need help with...that's why I here.
