Storyboard Text

  • Really!? Thank you!
  • Hm...I see...follow me, commoner.
  • This is Wanda, the master of Calculus. She will teach you what you seek.
  • Today I'll be teaching you about derivatives. From what I understand, you need help understanding trig derivatives so I'll keep it simple.
  • It's not that I don't understand them. I just have trouble remembering them.
  • Even better! I'll show you my method! It's easy!
  • *Shreak* Ahh! Where did everything go!?
  • sin(x) cos(x) tan(x) cot(x) sec(x) csc(x)
  • First, you have to list all of trig functions in this order.
  • sin(x)  cos(x) cos(x)  -sin(x)
  • The first two are a given as the derivative of cos(x) is -sin(x) and the derivative of sin(x) is cos(x).
  • Oh! So they're just opposites with opposite signs!... Where'd my body go!?
  • I see! So you already know the signs of the rest beforehand! The derivative of cotangent and cosecant are negatives while the rest are positive.
  • sin(x) cos(x) tan(x) cot(x) sec(x) csc(x)
  • cos(x) -sin(x) - -
  • From here you can label every other row as a negative since you already know their signs.
