  • Single-Issue Party
  • The Free Soil Party is a single-issue party because it only focused on opposing the expansion of slavery.
  • Minor parties are essential as they play a "spoiler role" in elections. This means that they can take votes from major parties and tip the scale in one party's favor. In addition, minor parties often stem from frustrations, so they bring awareness to issues, like economic hardships for example.
  • Equal pay for all!!!
  • Economic Protest Party
  • Economic protest parties stem from economic discontent. For example, a party may be created if many are upset by the lack of equal pay.
  • I'm a Dixiecrat because I believe that it is the states' right to legislate racial segregation.
  • Splinter Party
  • The Dixiecrat Party is a splinter party as it formed after a group of people broke off from the Democratic Party due to differing views.
